This program is good for beginning to intermediate users. It produces video faster than any of the other programs listed. The outstanding capabilities of this program do require a small learning curve for the user.

VideoStudio Pro X4 by Corel

This program is the most flexible video-editing software available. Its most important tools are easy to access and easy to use. However, users must overcome a steep learning curve in order to take full advantage of all the software’s capabilities.

Adobe Premier Elements

This program is great for users of all skill levels. Even beginners can produce and share movies online like a pro.

Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus HD

This program provides 3D and HD video-editing capabilities. It allows users to show off their creative side. However, the 3D and HD capabilities require a sizeable amount of computer power.

This program is great for beginners because of its ease of use. The low price makes up for a loss of some more advanced features such as 3D editing. This is also the only software we reviewed that does not include motion objects or animations.

Pinnacle Studio HD

This program offers the flexibility to produce any project you can imagine, including working with HDTV video formats. The complexity of this program and the extensive ability to customize causes a tremendous learning curve to fully take advantage of all its capabilities.

Roxio Creator

The ability to drag and drop video, audio, and effects makes this a great program for all users. Its ability to support a large variety of video outputs and transfer it into almost any kind of media, including 3D, ensures that the user will be able to easily meet his needs.
